Trick and Treating on Halloween...

Halloween for us started off a bit slow, but we made out ok; we started out at roughly 415pm, when we got outside we saw a few people doing their Halloween thing....but hey were mainly going into grocery stores/supermarkets or the corner Bodega's!! We did that for about 30 mins; then I said to the kids there has to be more than this....so we decided to canvas the neighborhoods! Now I live in a residential neighborhood loads of brownstone private houses; we walked for about 15 mins and 5 blocks from home before we saw anyone in the halloween spirit!! Some houses were decorated for the festivities, but when you ring their bell no one answered or they say they are not participating in the festivities, some houses had the sign on their door/gates that says "NO Soliciting" WTH?? Anyway after hitting a couple of houses and only getting a handful of candies we met a nice lady that told us to go around the corner to the bookstore and pick up the flyers with all the houses that are participating in the Halloween tradition!! It was only 26 houses...wow some door bells we rang it was hit sometimes miss!! And there was not much decorations just a sign saying "Trick or Treat".  To say the least I was very disappointed because there were not a lot of children out this year!! I thought we missed the festivities, but I asked a few of the houses that we hit and they said no....people are just not into the spirit this year!! Anywho here are the few pics I took of the kiddies, plus their loot/bounty after the 3.5 hour ordeal!! Enjoy
